Some time back the Lord showed me that the word wait in the Hebrew is almost identical to the word pierce, or pierced. When I studied these two side by side, it made so much more sense why waiting hurts us so much. It’s not because waiting is hard (it is), or because it requires so much patience (it does), but because while we’re waiting, the Lord is piercing our heart of flesh over and over and over. As He pierces us, He removes the impurities, the hardness, the parts of us that can’t come with us from the wilderness to the promised land. As we wait, He carefully crafts us into a beautiful masterpiece ready to steward the promise we are praying to receive. So while I know the waiting is hard, and it hurts deeply, one of the best things we can do in our walk with Him is learn to lean into His hands while He tenderly pierces our flesh over and over, removing every part that would prevent us from receiving the promise He has for us. #waiting #waitingongod #wait #waitforthepromise #jesus #promisedland #promises

It’s easier to give into the ‘safety’ of the bondage in our lives than it is to walk into the battlefield and face Goliath. It feels safer in the wilderness than it does to walk into the promised land and face off against giants. But, it’s in the promised land against the giants that we find our freedom. When we sever the heads of our Goliath’s, we are truly set free and able to walk in closer union with Christ. Goliath means Exposer, Exile - it comes from the verb גלה (gala), to uncover, expose or remove. David facing Goliath exposed the richness of his heart, that he was confident in the Lord. The Goliath’s we face also uncover things in our heart- giants expose to us what areas we trust God and what areas we still need to surrender to Him. If there is something keeping us in bondage, the giants will expose the area that has us in chains so that by facing them we can be set free from them. The name Goliath also means to remove. God wants to remove anything from our hearts and lives that keep us in chains and bondage to fear, to anxiety, to depression. The Lord wants to remove those things that prevent us from being able to hear Him and walk in close richness with Him. If a giant has entered into your land, rejoice! He’s only here to uncover that part of you which must go so that all that remains is a David-like heart that trusts the Lord completely. Pick up the sword of the Spirit, put on the armor of God, and face the giant that’s squatting in your land. He must bend a knee to the God you serve. We capture their rebellious thoughts and teach them to obey Christ..” -2 Corinthians 10:5 (NLT) I feel a surge of hope when I read this verse in the NLT - because I know that I can be taught anything. I don’t always have wisdom in all things, but I know I can be taught by Christ to have wisdom. I know I can be taught by Jesus to be obedient. I know that with the proper training, I can be taught! The Bible says the Holy Spirit is our teacher, He is our wonderful counselor. So if you struggle in this area, let hope arise in your heart that you can be taught something different than what you are thinking today! Rebellious thoughts can be trained to be Christ thoughts. All you need to do is ask the Holy Spirit to help you! Dealing with the false arguments and narratives, ending evil imaginations, letting go of the past, is what gives you the freedom to hear from Him. And we need that freedom, because all that the past mistakes are is bondage. The evil imaginations are chains that keep us imprisoned. The false arguments and narratives aren’t real, but they create real negative emotions that Satan uses to entrench us in spiritual warfare. If he can get our mind actively working against us, then we won’t step out as the warriors in Christ we truly are. Our birthright, bought by the blood of Jesus, is to walk in the Spirit and take an offensive stance against the enemy. But if the enemy can keep us in chains and bondage in our minds through his tactics, then we can’t hear what the Lord wants to do with our lives. We won’t hear Him speaking truth to us. We can’t when we’re bogged down by lies and baggage. Deal with the past. End the false imaginations and scenarios, and go spend time in God’s Word. Take those thoughts of yours captive to Christ. There’s a reason there are so many scriptures that tell us to keep our mind fixed on Christ. It’s because we need to! True peace, true holiness, true joy, comes from keeping our whole body in the Word. There’s no other way to have lasting peace, joy, patience, kindness, goodness and self-control! Jesus is the only answer to every problem. The devil is after our mind. There are so many amazing books out there about the warfare for our mind. What we believe and what we think is crucial in winning the battle. If we keep our eyes focused on Jesus and our mind in the Word, Satan won’t have a foothold into our lives. But when we take our minds off Christ, that’s when trouble arises. I was talking with the Lord last week and He said to me, “many of My people don’t hear Me because their imagination is blocking My voice.” And what is it that’s creating all of the noise? 1 - creating false narratives: making up stories in your mind 2 - evil imaginations and imagery: committing sins in your heart and mind 3 - arguing in your head or having ”discussions” with people that aren’t real 4 - reliving past mistakes over and over (and then causing guilt and shame to increase) If you want to hear God’s voice more clearly, these things must stop. Some time ago I was scrolling through Instagram videos and came across a woman who earns a living saving bees. I got sucked into her videos and I watched as she saved bees from trash cans, sewers, old barns. In every random place there were bees, she came in and took them away to a new home. I scrolled several of her videos when I stumbled upon one particular video in which she described how a queen is made. She explained that when an old queen leaves the hive or is about to die, that the worker bees recognize the change in her scent and begin to create a new queen for the hive. They do this by choosing 10-20 newly hatched female larvae and begin feeding them a special diet. The worker bees have a milky white substance secreted on the top of their heads called royal jelly, and this exclusive diet turns on the female larvae’s reproductive system, making her into a queen. When she said that these babies only ingest a special diet of royal jelly, immediately the Holy Spirit spoke to me regarding this food of royals and how it creates a queen. The Holy Spirit said to me, “All who come to Christ are royalty, joint heirs with Jesus. Those who are aware of My gospel, My righteousness, My gift of grace to you, are the ones who are aware of their position in Christ Jesus. My Word reminds you of who you are, what My blood bought for you. My Word keeps you in the truth. When you know the truth, you will live and act like the prince and princess you are!” Friends, we are royalty! And you might not feel like it or believe it, and that’s why we need to get into the Bible and consume the food of royalty. The Bible is our food. It’s our bread! In order for a baby bee to become a queen bee, she must consume ONLY royal jelly to do so. We’re the same. If we want to be giant slayers, warriors for Christ, miracle workers and earth-shakers, then our diet matters. What we take in daily matters. Whenever I put a sermon on while I’m working out, pretty soon I’m running faster and lifting harder than I had anticipated. I walk taller! So get in the Word! This verse is one that the Lord has used to minister to me personally over the last few years. Today however, the Holy Spirit arrested my attention on one particular word within the text: “If we do not give up.” I had read these words so many times - and yet I had never looked into the meaning of the final words of this verse. Different versions of the verse write, “we will reap if we do not lose heart” and, “we will reap, if we do not become weary.” The Amplified Bible writes, “for at the proper time we will reap, if we do not give in.” The Holy Spirit asked me, “What does ‘do not give up’ mean?” I immediately went to look it up, and my heart quickened within me when I realized what it said. The Greek word for ‘do not give up’ or ‘do not lose heart’ is translated specifically as “if we faint not.” This word for faint is ekluō, which means to relax. Suddenly, as I read these words I felt the Sword of the Spirit piercing through me into the very depths, convicting me of every time I have relaxed, becoming lazy while I wait on the promises to be fulfilled. I was reminded of the days in which I have woken up and declared to the Lord, “today, I can’t. Today I don’t have the energy.” God isn’t just saying “don’t lose heart” when life gets tough. He’s saying “do not relax in contending for the promise.” He’s saying, “Do not take time to believe in the fear of your heart, instead choose the faith of My word. Do not take time to let go of the promise because your heart hurts from the waiting. Do not relax your grip on the promise you are praying for!” Ekluō also means to loose, unloose, to set free. To have one’ s strength relaxed, to be enfeebled through exhaustion, to grow weak, grow weary, be tired out. Anytime I feel like I’m losing at the game of life, the Lord reminds me, “it’s not your game to win. It’s mine.” And then I’m reminded that He’s already won. If today the deck is stacked against you, the odds aren’t on your side, or the cards you’re holding show a losing hand- we can rest in the wonderful truth that God has an Ace up His sleeve at all times, a Trump card to beat out all the jokers and jacks. And you don’t need to worry about what’s being played against you. Hannah couldn’t conceive but then the Lord visited her. David was forgotten until the Lord called for all the sons to be presented and he was anointed in front of everyone. Abigail had a fool for a husband and the Lord replaced him with a king. Hezekiah was handed a death sentence, and then given 15 more years to live. Paul prided himself on killing Christians and then the Lord used that intensity to have the gospel spread to the nations. Paul was an enemy of believers one day, and then their biggest advocate and ally the next. Here’s the thing- we don’t hold all the cards. We might have a few in our hand, but we don’t know what’s in the deck and we don’t know what the enemy is wielding against us. But the Lord holds all things. The Lord knows all things. And the Lord has the key for our victory, the Ace that wins it all, Jesus. It’s the blood of Jesus, the name of Jesus, the person of Jesus that changes the cards you’re holding. I was meditating with the Lord this morning and He began to review for me the battles I have faced in the last few years and how challenging some were. And He reminded me that they were hard because an actual death was taking place. Every battle we face in this life, we will experience our flesh being put to death, and just as the flesh is put to death life will begin coming to the Spirit. The Lord reminded me the battles were hard because the flesh is dying, and sometimes the flesh has a hard time staying dead. Ever felt that way? Like the flesh wants to be resurrected and come back again and again? Don’t stop here! Keep going! As death comes to the flesh, life will begin to spring forth to the Spirit. Wisdom will pour into your heart and mind. Truth will reign in your thoughts. Your feelings and emotions will begin aligning with the truth written in God’s Word. And when the battle gets especially tough is the moment when you will have to decide: will I trust the Lord and continue to fight and overtake the giant or will I lay down my sword and let the giant win? Death to the flesh comes before the breakthrough. Rest if you need to, take a break if you have to, but get back in the fight as soon as your able. Pick up the Sword of the Spirit, the Word of God, and keep going. The mindset of a soldier is that of complete obedience to the orders given to him. When the centurion met Jesus, he asked that the Lord would heal his servant. But this is how he asked, “Lord, I am not worthy to have You come under my roof, but only say the word, and my servant will be healed.” The centurion understood something we all need to grasp in our walk with Jesus, at His word we are healed, made whole, complete, made righteous, forgiven, seated in heavenly places, given authority to do His will…and the list goes on and on. What has the Lord spoken to you? At His word you ARE as He says! Don’t let doubt and unbelief rob you of the life the Lord desires you to have! Choose today to have faith. I was reading in Hebrews 3 and I noticed that 3 times in this one chapter it says “Today if you hear His voice.” (v 7) Again the words are repeated in verse 15 “Today [while there is still opportunity] if you hear His voice” and in verse 13 it says “But continually encourage one another every day, as long as it is called “Today” [and there is an opportunity].” I asked the Lord, why did you say today? And why did you repeat yourself? And He said to me, “because yesterday is gone and tomorrow is not yet. You only have today to believe My voice and My words. Today, believe. When He had stopped speaking, He said to Simon, “Launch out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch.” - Luke 5:4 Launching out into the deep can be as extraordinary as taking on a new job overseas, quite literally casting away from home shores; or as simple as laying down an area of your life that you struggle to trust Jesus. Launching out means letting go and trusting Jesus will catch you. To launch out is the Greek word: epanagō, which means to put out (to sea) or to return. It could be returning to Christ, or literally launching some part of your life into His hands in whatever way He is asking you to. The deep is the Greek word: bathos, deep (-ness things) depth, or mystery. It’s a mysterious thing that happens when we surrender our life or aspects of our life to Jesus, trusting Him to take care of us in a way we never had before. It’s a mystery how launching out and surrendering more to Him causes things to align better for us. And yet, it’s in the mystery of letting go that we find out just how great He is. Has He given you a dream or a desire? Believe that He will do it as He said He would! The reason that Abraham was called righteous and lives in the Hebrew’s hall of faith (Heb 11) is because when God gave him a vision, Abraham chose that moment in his heart to believe that the Lord would do as He said He would. The same challenge is there for us today. If you have been given a word, a dream, a vision, or even a strong impression of desiring something deep in your heart that you know is biblical and good to have, then believe the Lord will do it for you! You don’t have to try to make God do it, or pray earnestly enough for it, all you need to do is this, “Lord, You have given me this (dream/desire), I believe You will come through as You have promised.” When the doubts come, repeat the promise to yourself. When fear takes root, repeat the dream God gave you. Abraham had to rest in this promise for 25 years before he saw it happen! But in that time the Lord created in Abraham a man who would birth nations- what will the Lord do in you as you wait on Him to deliver what He promised? The Lord didn’t want Abraham to be just a father, He wanted him to be a father of many nations. A father that led Isaac to greatness. I was chatting with the Lord before I fell asleep last night and the Holy Spirit dropped this nugget into my heart “I will never invite Myself into a place I have not been invited into.” And then the Lord began to minister to me about this word of wisdom, and He said, “if you want to see a miracle, invite Me into that place and let Me work. Let Me have My way. Let Me decide on the timing, let Me arrange the details.” It’s hard to give up control of our lives, and especially certain areas where we’re hoping to see miracles happen. “Think about the things of heaven, not the things of earth.” -Colossians 3:2 NLT This verse makes it pretty clear, especially this translation: think about the things of heaven, not of earth. I saw a quote recently that said “thoughts are just things to let get of” and I loved it. Many years ago the Lord began the process of renewing my mind, and He started by having me let go of every single thought that didn’t align with His word. If I was anxious, worried, stressed, sad or emotional, He told me I had to stop thinking about the things that were making me feel sad, stressed, anxious, worried or emotional. Instead, He told me I HAD to fix my mind on Him if I wanted to be at peace. The only way for our souls to remain at peace is if we are thinking about the Lord, His ways, His plans, His heavens, His Jesus, His word. Our only job on a daily basis is to fix our eyes on Jesus, and to let go of every thing else. Let go of any thoughts that make you worried, stressed or anxious. Let go of any thoughts that make you angry or irrational. Surrender those thoughts to Jesus, share them with Him and then let them go in His presence. That’s it! If you’re just beginning the process of renewing your mind don’t be upset if takes time or some days you fail. Just get back up today and keep putting those earthly thoughts at the feet of Jesus and instead think about the word of God and His promises and goodness. One day you will put those earthly thoughts down and never pick them again. Keep renewing your mind in the ways of Christ and peace will reign in your heart and in your mind. 🩵

In order for the Israelites to occupy their country they had to contend with every single enemy in the land God promised them. The first enemy they fought was the people of Jericho. Jericho means Place Of Fragrance or City Of The Moon, but what I find fascinating are the roots that go into the word Jericho. One root in Jericho is the verb (rawah), which means to be wide or spacious, unrestrained and unconfined. Now, isn’t it interesting that the very first city that the Israelite children occupied was a spacious, unconfined place? Their mothers and fathers had been bound by chains in slavery, and their children took back the enemy territory of freedom. This is why the Lord had them come for Jericho first, He was completely freeing them from their confined shackles and restraints. Amen! Abirim Publications says, “the Bible considers freedom the most precious commodity and ultimate objective of all humans. In fact, “it’s for freedom that Christ has set us free” (Galatians 5:1).” God had the Israelites battle first for their freedom, teaching them to let go of their slave mentality and to walk into enemy territory with the purpose and knowledge that this land belonged to them. David had 7 other brothers, and yet out of all of them the Lord liked him the best. 1 Chronicles 28:4 “Howbeit the LORD God of Israel chose me before all the house of my father to be king over Israel for ever: for he hath chosen Judah to be the ruler; and of the house of Judah, the house of my father; and among the sons of my father he liked me to make me king over all Israel” David says he was liked above his brothers. Why? I think it has to do with the heart. While his family surely spent time with the Lord as was mandated by the law, David spent time with the Lord because he loved His presence. His family would have made necessary trips every year to provide yearly sacrifices, they would have spent time with God during the Jewish feasts and holidays, but they likely let that meet their ‘religious requirements’. It’s David who praised the Lord with the harp. It’s David who practiced being a warrior and knew the Lord delivered him from lions and bears and later Goliath. It’s David who simply enjoyed the presence of the Lord. And the Lord rewarded him for that. When Mary was chosen to be the mother of Jesus, what I noticed is she pondered the words of the angel. She meditated on them. Joshua 1:8 says, “This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.” Mary didn’t let God’s words fall to the ground. She meditated on them and believed what God said. God liked her, her heart, her boldness to believe that what He said would happen, would come to pass. Want to be someone liked by the Lord? Spend time with Him! Talk to Him about all the things, be honest with your thoughts, feelings and emotions. He already knows what they are! But talking to Him about it is a prayer, and it tells Him you trust Him with your inner most being. Pray. Worship. If you have any hurts, any painful memories or experiences from the past, bring it to the cross today. When something happens to us that pains us, grieves us or damages us, we have the choice what we will do with those painful circumstances after they have happened. We might not be able to choose what happens to us or what someone says to us, but we can choose how to move forward from it. There was a scenario I had replayed in my mind over and over and one day I brought it to the Lord and said, “Why is this still bothering me? Why can’t I let it go?” And He replied, “Every time you replay it and don’t surrender it to Me, you let it happen to you all over again. Just because it happened to you doesn’t mean it needs to keep happening to you.” That was convicting. From that day forward I stopped replaying scenarios, and instead I surrender them to the cross. Depending on the pain of what happened, it might take weeks or months of giving it over to Jesus. Every day the Lord is with us, working out small miracles in our lives. A miracle might not immediately look like something huge, it might be learning to surrender new pieces of your heart. It might be learning to hear His voice in greater measure. Or maybe it’s being a neighbor to someone in need. And yet, those are all miracles. One day a few years ago I was walking down the stairs with one of my twin babies in my arms. I heard a noise and turned around to see my other twin had crawled to the stairs and before I could do anything she went right over the edge. At the same time I lost my footing from turning so fast when I saw she was going to fall down the stairs. In that very moment something caught me, and caught my baby and put her in my arms. There’s no other way to describe it, but angels were on the stairs with me that day, protecting me and my babies. Later that afternoon in my devotional was this verse: “For He shall give His angels charge over you, To keep you in all your ways. In their hands they shall bear you up, Lest you dash your foot against a stone.” Psalm 91:11-12 We can get so caught up in waiting for our major breakthrough that we forget how many small (or big) miracles the Lord is doing in our lives every day. Lord, may we learn to praise You for everything You are doing in our lives, great things and small things. “Look to the LORD and his strength; seek his face always.” - 1 Chronicles 16:11 Years ago when I looked to Jesus to be my best friend, I began talking to Him like a best friend. I would talk to Him all day, about everything in my day. Whatever came to mind I brought before Him. At the time I didn’t see it as praying, just as conversation. But overtime I realized I was living a life of constant prayer. As I would talk through worries, cares, anxieties I would inevitably lift them up into His care. Just communicating the things of my heart to Him gave me the ability to let it all go into His arms to care for it. You don’t have to be physically on your knees all day to be spiritually on your knees all day. You can go about your work and life and lift things to the Lord all day. As you’re typing emails send a prayer. When someone comes to mind lift them to the Lord. When you think about a battle you are facing talk to the Lord about it. There are very few times the Lord has spoken directly into my ear and said, “this is the way, walk in it.” Yet because I talk to Him all day I somehow always know the next right thing to do. He doesn’t have to say it to me loudly for me to perceive in my heart what to do next. This is what a life of prayer does for God’s people. It gives them a clear sense of His will in their every day life. A clear direction and desire to follow it. Your every day life might not allow for much time to kneel, but your heart and soul can bend before the Lord as you work, eat, rest and live. This I can confidently say of having a life of prayer: that the battles I face have become the food I eat and a place of growing faith and diminishing fear. That I am confident in the Lord’s will for my life, His plan for me every day, and His purpose for me to live fully. I often see the face of Jesus and experience His never-ending love and grace for me on a daily basis. I know His voice, and He knows mine. I pray this for you today. That you would know the Lord’s voice, and that He would know yours 🤍 Rest in #peace Charles Stanley. We were worshipping in the service this morning, praising the name of Jesus and His resurrection. As we worshipped, the Lord gave me a picture of me standing next to the cross, and in my hands were stones that I was carrying around. Each stone had a name on it of something I was carrying and not surrendering. As I stood there looking at these stones, I heard Him say, “drop them at my cross. Drop every stone, surrender them to Me, and let Me resurrect them for you.” What are you carrying? What stone is in your hands? Drop them at the cross, and His blood and saving grace will bring them to life. Let them go, and let Him take them. In our hands a stone becomes a heavy weight. In His hands our stones become our healing, our redemption, our new life, freedom from addictions, worries and anxieties. “but He has said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you [My lovingkindness and My mercy are more than enough—always available—regardless of the situation]; for [My] power is being perfected [and is completed and shows itself most effectively] in [your] weakness.” Therefore, I will all the more gladly boast in my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ [may completely enfold me and] may dwell in me.” -2 Corinthians 12:9 When I was pregnant with my twins I experienced excruciating pain the last 6 weeks of pregnancy. The entire pregnancy was hard, but the final 6 weeks were extremely painful. I am not a tall person, and during the final weeks I could feel my skin shredding apart and the pain from the ripping of several layers of skin and muscle was awful. Most nights I just laid in bed and cried from the intensity of it. It was during these weeks that I began to have incredible visions. I would pray and cry for the Lord to take the pain away, and instead Jesus would visit me. Nightly He would come and fill me with visions of Himself, visions of His suffering, and visions of the cross. It was during these weeks that I began to understand, in the smallest possible measure, the pain and suffering of my Lord. It’s been 3 years since I was pregnant, but those weeks still live with me. Anytime I feel like life is unfair or when I get angry with the Lord because of my circumstances, I am reminded of the payment Jesus made for me on the cross. I am reminded of the intense suffering He experienced for my redemption. And I hit my knees all over again in surrender to the One who paid it all. During this very Holy Week- may you experience the love of Jesus in great measure. Something the Lord has been pressing on me over and over in this past season is to let go of expectations. Many times I have seen the words, “don’t put any expectations on how I come through for you, just wait on Me, put your hope in Me, and expect me to be your breakthrough and miracle-worker, but let go of your expectations on how you think I should come through for you.” We have a tendency to put expectations on everyone in our life in some way or another. We expect our friends and family to be certain things for us, and then we become bitter and disappointed when things don’t happen the way we envision them to. When Jesus rode in on a donkey as the promised Savior of the world, the Jewish people expected Him to ride in as a warrior. They wanted Him to fight the Romans and take Israel back from their rule and set Himself up as King. When He didn’t, they were disappointed and killed Him instead. The Jews expected a Warrior, and they got a Servant, a God and Man who laid down His life for the sins of ALL mankind. They wanted their own Savior, not one who came for everyone. And the Lord has impressed on me deeply to let go of every expectation I have of Him. He said to me strongly, “expect Me to come through for you, but do not put any hope in HOW I come through for you. Let Me be God, and open your hands to receive how I show up as your God.” On this beautiful Palm Sunday, come before the Lord and let Him know you expect Him to come through, to be the God of your breakthrough. Let Him know you believe in Him and lay down your expectations of how you believe He should come through in your life. Surrender the breakthrough. Surrender the miracle. Surrender to Him and His timing. Surrender it all, and just flow in the Spirit. Flow with Him and let Him be God. Flowing in the Spirit means allowing the Lord to do things His way, in His time, and letting go of our time and our way. When we release our expectations of how we believe God should be God, we end up letting go of our stress and anxiety and instead just enjoy who He is. One day, while we’re just enjoying Him, our miracle will happen. And we won’t have to force or create it, He will do it.

I was feeling a sense of regret one day over something that happened in the past and suddenly the Holy Spirit arrested my attention and said to me, “regret is an inability to receive the forgiveness I bought for you. Let the past go and forgive yourself, because I already have.” It was such a huge moment between the Lord and me. In a moment He taught me not to condemn myself for ANY past mistakes, to forgive myself as He has done so for me. Now whenever the devil brings any past mistakes against me I immediately bring them to the cross, receive forgiveness for anything I have done, and I forgive myself as well. Last week I was scrolling through Instagram videos and came across a woman who earns a living saving bees. I stumbled upon one particular video in which she described how a queen is made. She explained that when an old queen leaves the hive or is about to die, that the worker bees recognize the change in her scent and begin to create a new queen bee for the hive. They do this by choosing 10-20 newly hatched female larvae and begin feeding them a special diet. The worker bees have a milky white substance secreted on the top of their heads called royal jelly, and this exclusive diet turns on the female larvae's reproductive system, turning her into a queen. When she said that these babies only ingest a special diet of royal jelly, immediately the Holy Spirit spoke to me regarding this food of royals and how it creates a queen. The Holy Spirit said to me, "All who come to Christ are royalty, joint heirs with Jesus. Those who are feeding on the word of God, living in their Bibles and feeding on the truth, are the ones who are aware of their position in Christ Jesus. My Word reminds them of who they are, what My blood bought for them. My Word keeps people in the truth. When you know the truth, you will live and act like the prince and princess you are!" The baby bees only consume royal jelly when they are transitioning from being a regular worker bee to becoming the queen of the hive. So too do we need to consume the diet of royals if we are to remember what we are: a royal priesthood. "But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light." 1 Peter 2:9 The second you surrender your heart to Jesus and receive Him, you are born from death unto life! Some time ago I was listening to a sermon and suddenly the Lord gave me a vision. In the sermon, the pastor mentioned the sinking of the Titanic, how it happened during a time when information was harder to receive. Family members gathered in Liverpool, England where two lists were posted: 1 - THOSE KNOWN TO BE SAVED & 2 - THOSE KNOWN TO BE LOST As word was received of certain passengers, their names would be placed on either one of the lists. Family members nearby would be waiting in anticipation of hearing if their loved ones were saved, or lost forever. I was thinking about this story and how one day we will all stand before Jesus, and suddenly I had a vision of being one in the crowd before the Lord. As I stared at Jesus, in my heart I said “look at me, Jesus! Look at me!” In an instant Jesus turned and looked directly at me and said, “I am looking at you. I am always looking at you.” His mouth didn’t move but I heard the words as if He had said them out loud. The intensity of His gaze held me fast, and His words reverberated throughout my whole being. This is a word for not just me, but for all who follow Him. He is looking at you, He is always looking at you. His gaze is fixed on you, in your happiest days and during your darkest of nights. His eyes never leave your face, and if you stop you’ll hear His voice reverberating throughout your whole being, “I am looking at you. The moment of salvation usually comes when we are at our lowest point, this is when we surrender our life to the Lord. It happens when we’re in the pit of pits, and the only place we can look is to Jesus to save us. So too our breakthroughs come when we surrender the situation and our heart completely to the Lord, trusting in His timing and His will above all else. Our circumstances change when we let go of our plans, our will, our control, and surrender it all the Lord. This is when things change. This is when grace comes into our situation and changes the landscape of our lives. So let it go! Let go of whatever you are holding onto, and trust that the One who created you, the Lord who knows every intimate detail about you, is also the right One to make things happen for you. We’ve had a lot of winter rain this year, and uncharacteristic rainbows during the past few months. A few days ago a storm blew through and it was dark all day. Late afternoon the rain stopped, and the sun came shining forth. I kept peaking out the window expecting to see a rainbow, but it never showed up. An hour or so later, with the sun shining brightly, I said to the Lord, “The conditions were perfect for a rainbow! Why didn’t you send it?” And I felt the Holy Spirit whisper to me, “Do you want to see it?” “Absolutely, yes!” I said to the Lord. He knows how much I love seeing His rainbow. And the Lord said to me in a deep voice, “then just ask.” So I did. I prayed to see the rainbow. I asked that the Lord bring it. Nothing happened for a few minutes so I returned to the kitchen to finish dinner. About 5 minutes later, I had a sudden urge to look out the window. There it was, my rainbow. The one I asked to see. I stood in awe and enjoyed the moment. The conditions were no longer perfect for a rainbow to appear, the rain had long since passed, but God sent one because I asked for one. If today you need a miracle, a blessing, an answer from the Lord, then just ask! Sometimes we grow weary of asking and give up. Sometimes we don’t ask because we think, “He knows my heart, why pray?” But part of praying, part of asking, part of opening up our hearts and being vulnerable with the Lord, is what moves God’s heart to answer. He longs to hear your voice. He longs to be God in your life. Let Him! Ask, and let God be God, the Maker of heaven and earth, Creator of all things, including you. He knows you, loves you, sees you, and desires to commune with you. I know the path of a believer can be dark at times, really dark. It’s at these moments that the Lord reminds me that my only job is to take the next step forward, and not to look ahead to what I cannot see. Sometimes the path needs to be dark so that we only focus on Him and what He’s asking us to do today. When the pathway does begin to illuminate before us, the discipline we’ve learned in just taking one next step when it was dark will help us to not rush ahead even when we see for miles. If there is anything today that is robbing you of your mental freedom, pray the blood of Jesus over it! We can get stuck in negative mental loops, and all that does is keep us chained to the situation. Instead of finding freedom we end up remaining stuck in our past or in our negative ways of thinking. Praying the blood of Jesus over our troubles provides us freedom from our troubles, but it also brings about restoration and redemption. We can't redeem ourselves or our problems. But Jesus can. His blood paid for it, so pray it over your life and your problems! Some time ago the Lord gave me a deeper understanding of the word Egypt in Hebrew. The meaning of the word Egypt in the Greek is Temple of Ptah, Married to Tragedy. In Egypt the Israelites were slaves to another people, they were in essence married to a tragic life. But what does Temple of Ptah mean? The name Egypt is an English translation of the Greek name Αιγυπτος (Aiguptos), which in turn is a transliteration of the Egyptian Hwt-Ptah, meaning Temple of Ptah. Ptah was Egypt's creator-god who had created the world via his thought and his word. What we think becomes what we create. I believe this translation in the Greek shows us that what we choose to think and believe can cause us to either be in bondage like the Israelites, or free from slavery if we keep our focus on Jesus Christ. Just as the children of Israel needed a savior to get them out of Egypt, so do we today. We can also stay married to tragedy if we replay negative situations over and over in our mind. When we lean into any negative train of thought we end up being bound by our troubles. This is why it's so important to bring our thoughts captive to Christ! We can choose what we incline toward. The Bible is very specific, it says "My son, give attention to my words; Incline your ear to my sayings." (Proverbs 4:20 NKJV) We can either incline our minds and our bodies toward troubles and distress, or toward the word of God. But we have to choose with intention what we listen to and focus on. Last year I was sitting at my desk and thinking about a tough situation we were facing. I was caught up in a mental loop, replaying this negative situation in my mind. Suddenly a red cardinal flew by my window and perched on the windowsill. My desk was right next to it. He sat about 2 feet from me. As I stared at this cardinal I suddenly heard the Holy Spirit say: “pray the blood of Jesus over it.” I immediately quit playing the mental loop and instead prayed the blood of Jesus over it. I don’t remember how long it took for the situation to be resolved, but I didn’t have to do anything to fix it, I just prayed the blood over it. The blood of Jesus has everything we need. It’s victory over the darkness. It’s healing for the body, mind and heart. It’s restoration for anything the enemy has stolen. It’s redemption from every negative situation. It’s favor even in situations where we don’t deserve it. It’s blessings and prosperity where we lack. It’s complete power over everything you are facing. So whatever it is you’re facing today: pray the blood of Jesus over it. He will heal you, restore you, redeem you, and give you favor and victory. He will fight for you. A few months ago the Lord prompted me to write a prayer down while I was studying Habakkuk 2. The words "appointed time" jumped out at me and I believe there's something significant that the Lord has for us regarding this idea of appointed times. The Hebrew word for appointed time is moed, and it means: appointed times, meeting, feast, festival This word is often used to describe the appointed times of feasts and festivals in the Old Testament. But it has a deeper meaning as well. The Lord is telling Habakkuk that He has picked a specific time for the vision to happen, and He will make it happen at that time. I love the way Sarah Fisher describes moed, "Moed, instead, reflects the times that God has specifically appointed to honour and remember moments in history when God rescued his people." Moed is the idea of the Lord intervening on behalf of His children, rescuing them, and us remembering those times. This is where the Hebrew feasts and festivals come into play, it's a remembrance of the Lord and what He has done. We do the same thing when we celebrate Easter, remembering the Lord and His death, His resurrection, and how His death bought our freedom and victory. Moed is a celebration of remembrance, an appointed time in which we remember God. But moed is derived from another Hebrew word, yāʿad: to fix, appoint, assemble, meet, set, betroth. Yāʿad is the idea of the Lord meeting with us, His bride, at an appointed time to engage in marriage. It's a beautiful picture of the future we have in heaven with our Beloved Betrothed! But the Lord arrested my attention and asked me to begin praying for moed moments, for divine appointments from Him. He asked me to start praying that He would set up appointed times for promises to come to pass in my life. Today He says to you, ask for the appointed time to come. What are you praying for? Ask for a moed moment between Me and you, and that the appointed time would come for the promise to be fulfilled in your life. Ask for My hand to intervene on your behalf. “So Jesus answered and said to them, “Have faith in God.” -Mark 11:22 Last fall I was praying for something for our family, and honestly I struggled to believe for it myself. I felt weak, downtrodden and faithless. I wanted to believe in the Lord, that He would move on behalf of our family. But my flesh was failing, and I struggled in my spirit. After an entire year of setbacks and disappointments, it felt impossible. One night the Lord woke me in the middle of the night and I sat with Him for nearly 4 hours. I prayed and read the Word and was silent before Him. At the end of our time, as the sun was just coming up, I said, “I don’t have the strength to believe. My faith is too weak. Give me the faith of Jesus. Give me Your faith, for it covers all that I lack. It’s perfect. Give me Your perfect faith.” That’s all I said. And then I let go of the situation and put in His hands. A few days later the Lord answered our prayers in a big and mighty way. In fact, after our year of disappointments and setbacks this answered prayer was a major comeback, and more than we could have asked for or dreamed of. The wording in our English in Mark 11:22 is “Have faith in God,” but how it would be translated in Greek is “Have the faith of God” or “Have God’s faith”. In fact the Greek word for Have is echō and it means to hold, to own, to possess. It’s the idea of holding onto the Lord’s belief, possessing His faith. So when we invite the Holy Spirit to give us the faith of Jesus, when we ask for His faith to be bestowed on us, we are ‘echoing’ back to the Lord the faith of His Son. We are holding onto Jesus and His perfect faith. We surrender what we lack and ask for the Lord’s faith, strength and might to fill us. Today, ask God for the faith of Jesus! When the Israelites stepped into their promised land they had to fight with every enemy already occupying their land. The first enemy they fought was the people of Jericho. Jericho means Place Of Fragrance or City Of The Moon, but what I find fascinating are the roots that go into the word Jericho. One root in Jericho is the verb (rawah), which means to be wide or spacious, unrestrained and unconfined. It’s interesting that the first city the Israelite children occupied was a spacious, unconfined place. Their mothers and fathers had been bound by chains in slavery, and their children took back the enemy territory of freedom. This is why the Lord had them come for Jericho first, He was completely freeing them from their confined shackles and restraints. Amen! God had the Israelites battle first for their freedom, teaching them to let go of their slave mentality and to walk into enemy territory with the purpose and knowledge that this land belonged to them. Freedom belonged to them. It belongs to us today too. Another root of Jericho is the noun (rewah) and it means space, or respite, or relief. The Israelites occupying Jericho was a sign of relief from the desert heat. It became their city of respite and space. The other roots are the noun (ruah), it means both wind and spirit, the noun (reah) means scent or fragrance, and the verb (riah) means to detect or produce a scent or fragrance. When we come for enemy territory because we have been moved by the Holy Spirit to do so, we emit the fragrance of Jesus. Eventually our giants will have to fall when we fight them, because the very scent of Jesus is on us, and it's His Spirit that gave us the dream and desire to occupy the land God promised to us. So today if you are contending for a dream that God placed in your heart, keep marching and praying for it. Keep believing and don’t be like the 10 spies that couldn’t believe God would do it. A few nights ago the Lord interrupted me during a dream. I was asleep, dreaming about something random, when suddenly the voice of the Lord spoke to me. In my dream His voice suddenly rang out and He said, "Those who don't take My Word seriously, will never receive the fullness of what I have to offer. Believers who read My word and see the words, "I am the Lord who heals you," but don't believe I am willing to heal them, will never see me as The Healer. Believers who read the words, "I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you," but they don't see me as their Counselor, as their Instructor, that I love them; will never experience the fullness of My Counsel, My Love, My Instruction. Believers who read the words, "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest," but don't come to Me with their burdens, casting their cares at My Feet, will never know the rest I provide. Believers who read, "For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future," but don't trust Me for their future, don't believe I desire good and WANT to prosper them, will never see My prosperity. Happy New Year! I pray that 2023 brings about breakthroughs, answered prayers and fulfilled promises for you and your loved ones. As we step into the new year I want to encourage you to keep praying for the dreams the Lord has put on your heart. If there is a dream or Bible passage that God gave you, and it sits heavily in your spirit, keep holding onto hope that He will come through for you! God doesn’t give a dream or vision without fulfilling the promise. He always comes through for those who wait on Him. A promise the Lord gave me before I started dating my husband was that He would bring me to a land He was going to show me, that He would bless me and establish me. He gave me those words almost 12 years ago, and just 2 months ago He fulfilled it. You may have noticed that I was relatively quiet in October and November- that’s because we were busy packing and moving into our new home. The Lord is establishing us in the land He promised to show to us. You may be in a place of waiting on the Lord to fulfill promises and answer your prayers. You may even be in a place of wondering why God gave you a dream if He’s not going to bring it about. The good news is that God never gives you a dream without having every intention of delivering it. Even if the vision tarries, wait for it! He is faithful. One day the Lord spoke to me and said, “only those who wait on me will have their strength renewed, those who wait will mount up with wings like the eagle. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Some encouragement I want to give you coming into 2023… If you’re waiting on the Lord to answer prayers, or struggling with a promise yet to come, this is for you. In Habakkuk 2:3 the Lord says, "Though it tarries, wait for it; Because it will surely come." God gave Habakkuk a vision and He said wait for it, because it WILL SURELY come. Not maybe it will arrive. He didn't say it will possibly happen. No, the Lord said will surely. If the Lord gave you a vision for your future, and you choose to wait on Him while it tarries, the Lord promises that it will surely be delivered. You don't have to strive for it, or work for it, or try to earn it. All you have to do is wait on the Lord to deliver it. I think this passage gives us such hope for the future. There are visions and dreams that every believer has been given by God, and we can be assured that He will bring those to pass. I know it hurts to wait. Just as a chisel pierces the rock to carve it into something magnificent, so too does waiting pierce our hearts of stone and turn it into flesh. (Ezekiel 36:26) The things of the Lord take time. But those who wait on the Lord will be lifted up. Those who don't wait will never get lifted. So, don't be discouraged if your dream takes time to mature. Instead, keep waiting on the Lord, and you will see His goodness. Our God desires a true masterpiece to steward His good gifts. Habakkuk can teach us a lot about why we might be waiting for God to answer our prayers. Then the Lord answered me and said: “Write the vision And make it plain on tablets, That he may run who reads it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time; But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; Because it will surely come, It will not tarry.” Habakkuk 2:2-3 A few things that are really interesting about this passage that I want to highlight. First, the vision that Habakkuk received from the Lord is for an appointed time. Everything that the Lord promises to us is for an appointed time. It might be that the promise He gives you is near-term, or maybe it's a long-term promise that is developed through years of prayer and waiting on the Lord. Whatever the case is, your promise will not arrive until the appointed time is here, so pray for your appointed time to come! The first word tarries is the Hebrew word mahah, and it means to linger, tarry, wait, delay, hesitate. The second tarry is an entirely different word, 'âchar, and it means to delay, defer, remain behind, to loiter, procrastinate, be late. It's interesting that our Lord made sure to differentiate between these two words. Although the vision is taking its time and is delayed, it is not late. The Lord Himself was the one who spoke these words to Habakkuk, telling him that although the vision is taking time to come to pass, He the Lord is not procrastinating in bringing it about. The same is true for your life today. If God has promised something to you He is not late in answering. The Lord told Habakkuk, "Though it tarries, wait for it.." The word wait is the Hebrew verb chakah, which means to adhere to; to await:--long, tarry, wait. But its akin to the Hebrew verb chaqah through the idea of piercing. Chaqah means to cut, carve, cut in--carved work. The Lord told Habakkuk to wait, and the word He used indicated that the waiting would hurt, it would pierce Habakkuk. Learning patience, growing in longsuffering, hurts. Becoming like Jesus, the one pierced for us, hurts. But the Lord promises that if we are obedient and wait, the promise WILL SURELY come. Amen!

“For the vision is yet for an appointed time; But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; Because it will surely come, It will not tarry.” -Habakkuk 2:3 It’s interesting that in this verse there are two different words used to describe tarry. In the King James the word used in both instances is tarry, but in the NKJV the first word is tarries, the second is tarry. In the Hebrew the first tarry is mâhah: to delay, hesitate, to be reluctant, linger. It’s not to say that the vision is late, but rather is delayed in arriving. The second tarry is ‘âchar: to loiter, be late, procrastinate, tarry longer, defer, hinder. This tarry denotes that the Lord will not be late in delivering the vision, or procrastinate in answering His promise. What was true for Habakkuk is true for us. Though we wait for our promise, though we wait in prayer for the Lord to answer us, He is not late in delivering the promise. He doesn’t postpone or put off doing what He says He will. Today, rest in the Lord, wait on His good time, and believe that He will do what He said He would. Are in a battle right now? Do you feel like you’re under attack? The Israelites felt like this often. In order for the Israelites to occupy their country they had to contend with every single enemy in the land God promised them. The first enemy they fought was the people of Jericho. Jericho means Place Of Fragrance or City Of The Moon, but what I find fascinating are the root words in the word Jericho. One root in Jericho is the verb (rawah), which means to be wide or spacious, unrestrained and unconfined. Now isn't it interesting that the very first city that the Israelite children occupied was a spacious, unconfined place? Their mothers and fathers had been bound by chains in slavery, and their children took back the enemy territory of freedom. This is why the Lord had them come for Jericho first, He was completely freeing them from their confined shackles and restraints. Abirim Publications says, "the Bible considers freedom the most precious commodity and ultimate objective of all humans. In fact, "it's for freedom that Christ has set us free" (Galatians 5:1)." God had the Israelites battle first for their freedom, teaching them to let go of their slave mentality and to walk into enemy territory with the purpose and knowledge that this land belonged to them. Freedom belonged to them. Another root of Jericho is the noun (rewah) and it means space, or respite, or relief. Jericho was a sigh of relief from the desert heat. It became their city of respite and space. The Canaanite people were giants in comparison to the Israelites. When God’s people settled into these homes they would have been bigger and grander than anything they would have built themselves. Other roots are the noun (ruah), it means both wind and spirit, the noun (reah) means scent or fragrance, and the verb (riah) means to detect or produce a scent or fragrance. Today we believers emit a fragrance as well. The enemy hates us because we smell like Jesus! But as they sailed He fell asleep. And a windstorm came down on the lake, and they were filling with water, and were in jeopardy. And they came to Him and awoke Him, saying, “Master, Master, we are perishing!” Then He arose and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water. And they ceased, and there was a calm. But He said to them, “Where is your faith?” And they were afraid, and marveled, saying to one another, “Who can this be? For He commands even the winds and water, and they obey Him!” Luke 8:22-25 Jesus had a plan before the disciples even set out in a boat to cross the lake. Jesus was after the deliverance, healing and restoration of the demon-possessed man. It wasn't until they had gotten in the boat and were headed toward their destination that "suddenly a furious storm came up on the lake, so that the waves swept over the boat." (Matthew 8:24) Satan had no idea what Jesus' next move was until He started moving. It was then that the devil tried to prevent Jesus from delivering a man from his demons. It's only when the Lord begins to move in a certain area of your life that suddenly the devil will bring storms to prevent you from getting to the other side. Satan can see what was promised to you when the promise is released from heaven. He will send storms at you to defeat and discourage you. The devil doesn't want you healed. He doesn't want you delivered. And he definitely doesn't want you to walk in the fullness of the promise that God gave you. Satan will always do whatever he can to either intercept your blessing or prevent you from walking in your promised land. When the devil sends a storm, just cling to Jesus in the boat. No boat is going down when Jesus is in it. It can't! After all, He is the One who walks on water, how much more will a boat stay afloat when He's inside? So take heart! There is a picture floating around on the internet and social media, you've probably seen it. It's a little child holding onto a teddy bear, and Jesus is in front of her asking for the teddy bear. Behind Jesus' back is a bigger teddy bear, but He can't give it to her until she lets go of the little bear. There is a wonderful principle in God's Word regarding blessings. The Lord won't give her the bigger bear until she has learned to give up the little bear. It's not that the Father doesn't want to bless her, in fact He wants to bless her in a bigger way than she even knows! She can't see the bigger bear, so she feels like God doesn't care about her. But in fact, Jesus cares so much that He wants to give her more than she currently has. The problem is, her arms are full, and she can't carry the bigger bear without giving up the smaller bear because the bigger bear is too big to be carried at the same time as the small bear. The same is true for us. The Lord wants to bless us immeasurably, and sometimes that means letting go of our small bears. It might be a relationship that no longer bears fruit, or hobbies that were once joyful but have lost their luster. Maybe it’s letting go of our plan for the future, and letting God plan our future. Maybe it’s letting go of an emotion that is fruitless, and taking up the fruits of the Spirit. Whatever it is that needs to go, must go. Jesus wants to give us bigger and better things, but we can't receive it until we have learned to let go of our current armful and trust Him to carry that armful for us. He might have us walk with empty arms for a little while, as we learn to depend and trust in Him completely. The Lord might keep our arms empty for some time as He grows our faith, because we need stronger arms and greater faith to carry what He desires us to carry. I was driving the other day and thinking about a way I could encourage one of my friends during a difficult time and the Holy Spirit interrupted my thoughts and dropped this word of knowledge into my spirit: “The most valuable thing you can do for your friend is pray for her. And it’s free.” It’s such a simple word, and it’s so profound. We have the privilege of blessing someone by praying for them, by asking the Lord to bless them and their situation. We can pray for wisdom, encouragement, peace, answers to prayers, for hope and strength, for the grit and determination it takes to make it through hard times. We get to! And the Lord hears us! I was driving home from dropping my daughter off at preschool and talking to the Lord about a dream He’s placed in my heart. It hasn’t happened yet, but I can feel it in my soul as if it has. It’s almost as if this dream has become tangible in my spirit, but it’s not a reality yet. It hasn’t materialized into the natural. I was talking with the Lord about it, talking about how different life would/will be in the future when this thing has happened. Suddenly, He arrested me attention and said, “act now as you will in the future. Act as if it’s already happened.” When the Lord said that to me I felt myself straighten in my seat, and my heart was strengthened. A boldness filled me to believe for something I don’t yet possess. Because even though I can’t see it, God sees it. He gave me a dream, will He not fulfill it? And then the verse Hebrews 11:1 came to my mind, but I love how the Amplified Bible puts it: “Now faith is the assurance (title deed, confirmation) of things hoped for (divinely guaranteed), and the evidence of things not seen [the conviction of their reality—faith comprehends as fact what cannot be experienced by the physical senses].” Faith comprehends as fact what cannot be experienced by the physical senses. Yes! And with a single phrase from the Lord, I suddenly felt as He feels, and I saw as He sees. When He gives us a promise, He sees us with it already. When we receive that promise, we should look forward to it with hope and expectation and excitement, and act as if it’s already happened. It might not happen for a year or two, or maybe more, but pray as if it has, believe as if you can see it. One day, you will see it in the natural just as the Spirit sees it right now in the supernatural. What are you believing God for? What are you hoping for and praying to see? Act today as you will in the future. Act as if it’s already happened. Pray as if you know the Lord will answer. Why is waiting so important? Because it’s in the wait that we become more moldable and teachable. We let go of past hurts and shed the chains of bondage that have kept us living in slavery. We turn from our repeat mistakes, and we give those to the Lord. While we wait, while we learn to rest in Him, we gain all that He has to give us: freedom from our bondage, strength and grit, discipline and perseverance. I was pondering Romans 8:28 this morning and the Lord spoke to me about all things working out for our good: the wonderful, the bad, and the ugly all work together to prosper us and the future God has for us. About an hour ago I was chatting with a friend about God positioning negative things in our life to end up positive when suddenly the Lord spoke to me about Joseph’s life. Joseph’s dream came true when pharaoh promoted him to the palace, but in order for Joseph to end up in the palace he had to be in prison first. It was in prison that God positioned him perfectly to meet the butler who would later speak highly of Joseph to pharaoh. But in order for Joseph to end up in prison he had to be falsely accused. And to be in a position in which he was accused he had to be a slave, with zero rights or worth, in another man’s home. All of Joseph’s steps were purposed, yet none looked great. But what the Lord said to me is that Joseph learned how to care for people in a rich man’s home, but he also learned how to care for the broken-hearted, hopeless and poor people in prison. He learned how to take care of people in wealth and in poverty. Is this not like Jesus? Jesus too takes care of us in our best times and in our worst times. But what God taught Joseph is how to be an incredible steward of anyone God brought under his care. He cared for the weak and the strong, the mighty and the broken. And it’s when we do this in our walk with Him, walking well when we’re great, and walking well when we’re humbled, that our heart is changed and we become moldable men and women whom God can use for great exploits. So that bad thing that’s happening to you, the lies being told about you, it’s all working together for your benefit. I was sitting at my desk one afternoon and suddenly the Holy Spirit bubbled a word up within me regarding the purpose and plan for the storms in our lives. Real storms are shown throughout the Old and New Testaments as both opposition from the enemy, and planned and purposed by God. Happy New Year to Israel! Today begins Rosh Hashana, but in the Old Testament this holiday was specified as the Feast of Trumpets (Lev 23:23-25) In ancient Israel, The Feast of Trumpets would fall on the first day of the seventh month, at the sighting of the new moon. Designated Jewish authorities would keep watch for the new moon to appear. As soon as the new moon rose into the sky, trumpets would blast across the countryside, from hilltop to hilltop, telling all of Israel that the feast had begun and all work must cease. It was crucial for every Jewish household to be prepared! If their work wasn’t finished, and they hadn’t properly prepared for the feast, when the trumpets would blow they wouldn’t be ready to participate. Because the law stated no work was to be done on holidays, those who weren’t ready would be either in violation of the law by preparing on the holiday, or would be left out completely from the celebration.
