Elsa-Themed 5th Birthday Party
This year Skylar realized what birthdays mean and how special they can be. She was so excited to turn 5! Her request for her birthday was that she wanted to dress up as Elsa and be with all of her friends. Oh, and to eat lots of cake and to open many presents.

When I sent out the invitations I wrote to the girls: "dress up as your favorite princess." Many of the moms texted me right away and said their girls were excited that they were invited to a princess-themed birthday party. Skylar wanted to look like a princess on her birthday, and every girl coming was excited to look the part as well.
Balloon Arch
For Skylar's Frozen birthday party, we started out by buying Frozen-themed balloons to make beautiful balloon arches for our entryway. I bought two of these balloon sets on Amazon to complete the look in our front rooms. I also wanted a large balloon arch for parents to take pictures with their kids and to set the backdrop for the special Elsa that was coming to the party.
I used the balloons to decorate the light outside our home for our guests to know they were at the right house - and any extra balloons we had were used as decoration.
Elsa Character From Princess Parties
I searched through a few different Princess Party websites before coming to Princess Parties by Heidi. Their company was close to our home and the reviews spoke for themselves! We hired an Elsa-inspired Disney character for the birthday party.
A day before Skylar's birthday party, Elsa called to wish her a happy birthday and to tell her she was excited to come and to meet Skylar and her friends. Skylar got off the phone and said to me, "I didn't know she was really real!" It made her party extra special having a personal phone call from Elsa beforehand.
Special Book Reading & Craft By Elsa
One of the perks of having a professional party planner like a Disney character come to your home is that they kind of run the show. Elsa read her own story to the girls and was great at engaging them with questions. She also led a crowning ceremony for Skylar.
After the book reading, Elsa brought out a craft for the girls to make their own crowns which they all loved. And each girl had a crown to take home at the end of the party.
Frozen-Inspired Cake & Cupcakes
We ordered a Frozen cake and cupcakes from our local Sam's Club for Skylar's party. The process was easy - and the cake turned out great. During a regular Sam's Club run, I went to the bakery and filled out the form to special order a Frozen cake and cupcakes (there are several different options!), and then put in the date I planned to pick everything up. It was so smooth!
The day before her party I went to Sam's Club, purchased food for the party and picked up the cake. I know many local grocery stores with bakeries and Costco have the same service. I highly recommend doing this for your child's next birthday party!
Princess Themed Decorations & Party Favors
I purchased Princess-themed napkins, plates and cups to go with the overall "dress like your favorite princess" theme of the party. The plates are inscribed with the words, "Make A Wish" and the napkins say, "Once Upon A Time."
For the party favors, I stuck with the Frozen theme and every girl went home with a goodie bag of Anna and Elsa inspired items.
This was a birthday that Skylar will remember forever. She had a wonderful time, and her friends all enjoyed themselves as well. Elsa coming to her party was such a treat, and I know it's going to be hard to top this one!
I hope your little girl has an extra special day too. Happiest of birthdays to her!
With joy,
Jessica
