Pack Your Suitcase!

Last night I had a dream which I believe speaks to where some of us are today.

In my dream I was in my room, sitting on the floor.  In front of me was a suitcase, and I had piles of clothing and toiletries all around me.  I was taking my time deciding what to bring with me, and not paying any attention to the actual time.  Suddenly my husband came in and said, "I ordered the Uber!  We have to be ready in 16 minutes!"

I looked down at my suitcase and I thought, "Oh no!  I don't have enough time to pack everything that I need to bring!"  In my dream I began to frantically throw everything in and put together my toiletries as quickly as I possibly could.  There was such a sense of urgency in my Spirit that if I didn't hurry, I wouldn't be ready to get in the car to go where we needed to go.  I had a very real sense that I should have prepared earlier, and I should have been ready at the door with my things before we called for an Uber to pick us up.

I believe that for some of us, we have been in a place of waiting on the Lord for a very long time for dreams and visions to come to pass.  We have sat at His feet for many hours, and we've gotten cozy there.  Maybe even a little apathetic.  We have grown comfortable taking our time sitting, taking our time packing, and we won't be quite ready when He says, "Time to go!  Let's move!  Grab your things!"

What has the Lord given you to steward?  What's His dream that He's placed on your heart?  What has He asked you to do specifically?  To prepare for a baby?  To prepare for ministry or a new job?  To prepare for your future spouse?  To prepare for a physical move to a new state or country?  To write a book? 

If you were really honest, have you done all the things that He has asked?  Have you made preparations and fulfilled everything He asked you to?  If not, today is the day to begin packing with urgency! 

If there is something the Lord has called you to do, begin preparing with renewed vigor and strength.  He is coming very soon to tell you, "The car is coming!  It's time to go!"  We will want to be waiting at the door, prepared and ready with our suitcase in hand to go where He is asking us to go.  Get ready.  Be prepared.  Our husband the Lord Jesus is on His way to hand out the next assignment and send us on our journey.  Be ready at the door, for soon He comes.
