Prayer: When You Need A Miracle

Every day holds the possibility of a miracle.
-Elizabeth David
Praying when there's no answer, is hard work. It's also heart work. It takes courage and strength to keep praying. It takes perseverance and patience to keep going even when there is no reply. It takes dependence on God, and trusting that He knows what He's doing. It's in this process, in this season of waiting for God to move, that the real work happens. And it happens in us.
I wrote this prayer while in the middle of writing Knock And The Door Will Be Opened. As I was studying the Word of God and writing this article, He gave me a prayer for those who are waiting on the Lord for their miracle. A prayer for those who are in the wilderness and wondering when, when will you see your Promised Land?
Waiting is hard. I think it's harder than receiving a no from the Lord. We struggle to wait on Him, because that means we're giving up control of the situation. It means we're giving up control of the way we perceive our life should go, the way we plan for it to turn out. That's hard. But yet, God's Word says He is faithful, and His Word tells us to ask, seek, and knock.
Beautiful friend, today don't stop asking from the Lord. Don't stop seeking His face, and don't stop knocking until He opens the door.
Lord, today I'm not just asking for my miracle, I'm crying out for it.
I require you to answer me! Answer my prayer!
Lord God in heaven, hear my voice! I won't give up.
I won't stop asking for {name your miracle}.
I so desire for You to give me what I need! No one but You can.
Lord, I seek Your face, Your heart, Your will in this matter.
If You have a different path for me, then change my heart's desire.
If this is the right path, then lead me out of the wilderness.
Bring me to my promised land!
Father, I praise You.
I praise You for Your faithfulness, I praise You because You are mighty to save,
and You are with me.
I praise You because You take great delight in me.
Sing over me Lord!
Hear my cry and sing over me!
Father, I'm knocking on the door and only you can answer it.
I pray the blood of Jesus Christ into my life, into my situation,
and over myself and {name specifically what the blood must cover}.
The blood of Jesus speaks of better things than Abel,
better than any man who's ever lived,
and I call on Your blood to cover me, cover my miracle, and bring it forth.
In Jesus name, hear my prayer! Answer me!
Give to me my miracle! Amen!
“I am the LORD, the God of all the peoples of the world. Is anything too hard for me?"
Jeremiah 32:27 (NLT)
With joy, Jessica
