A Daily Prayer For My Children
"All your children shall be taught by the Lord,
And great shall be the peace of your children."
Isaiah 54:13

Sometime around 2014 the Lord challenged me to put my prayers on note cards and stick them in my Bible. It was through this practice that I learned the art of praying continually as Paul spoke about in 1 Thessalonians 5.
Since then, I have seen many answered prayers- simply because I kept at it. Some prayers would change over time as I learned the Lord's will in a certain situation. At other times, the Lord so completely changed my heart that the prayer was no longer relevant. And through it all, He has been faithful to answer so many of them.
This prayer sits in my Bible and every day I open it up I pray it. It's a prayer the Holy Spirit led to me write for my children.
We have had many big feelings in our home as of late - it happens to be the age where they are learning a lot in a short amount of time and experiencing friend drama and school issues in a way they haven't had before. I asked the Lord how I should pray for them to help them stay rooted and grounded in His love, to not be swayed by every feeling, and He led me to Isaiah 11:2 and Ephesians 3:14-19. When our children are rooted and grounded in Him they won't be tossed by every whim or desire they have!

Father God, I bring my children (names) to You
and I pray the blood of Jesus over their hearts, minds and emotions.
Fortify their minds and hearts against disappointments,
and I pray You would teach them how to manage their emotions and not be
swayed or led astray by every feeling that they have.
I pray Your Spirit would rest heavy upon them.
Give them the Spirit of wisdom and understanding,
the Spirit of counsel and might,
the Spirit of knowledge and the fear of the Lord.
And I pray that You would grant my children,
according to Your riches of glory,
that they be strengthened with might through Your Spirit in their inner man,
that Christ would dwell in their hearts through faith.
I pray they would be rooted and grounded in love,
to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge,
and filled with all the fullness of God.
